After a long, cold winter, warmer temperatures are finally here.
Which, naturally, means we're running off to seek refuge in our air-conditioned local cinema at the earliest opportunity.
There'll be no shortage of stuff to watch over the next few months. Whether you love laughing, swooning, crying, or screaming, Hollywood's gonna have you covered.
With that in mind, then, we think it just makes sense to hit the ground running. So today we're kicking off our summer movie preview series with a list of films to watch if you're ready for some action...
Deadpool 2is being directed by David Leitch of Atomic Blondeand John Wickfame, so you know you can expect some deadly action. But it's still a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds, so you know you can look forward to some killer jokes to go with that deadly action. So what if The Last Jediwas less than six months ago? We're always for another trip to that galaxy far, far away, especially if it means we'll get to see our old friend Han again. And our other old friend Chewbacca. And our otherother old friend Lando, with his enviable collection of space capes. And all our new friends, like Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke) and L3-37 (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). In short: We can't freaking wait.

Based on the trailer, American Animalslooks like your standard heist flick. But there's a twist: This really happened. Not only that, but the people it really happened to are featured in the movie. Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, Jared Abrahamson, and Blake Jenner play four college students inspired by the movies to execute a daring heist, while their real-life counterparts comment on the proceedings.

If you thought the Indominus Rex from Jurassic Worldwas scary, wait 'til you meet the Indoraptor. That's right – life found a way to mash up two already formidable monsters into one even more terrifying creature. However, it's not just the humans who need to be scared this time. The dinos themselves are at risk as well, thanks to an impending volcanic eruption that could spell extinction for them all over again.

Another summer, another blockbuster in which Tom Cruise tiptoes right up to the edge of death for our amusement. Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which brings back Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nationdirector Chris McQuarrie, required Cruise to jump from 25,000 feet and learn to fly a helicopter – among other daredevil stunts, we're sure.
