President-elect Donald Trump demanded an apology from the cast of Hamilton Saturday in the wake of the its comments to vice president-elect Mike Pence.
As the musical ended,Eng Sub Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr, read a polite message to Pence as he left the theater, urging him and Donald Trump to create an inclusive administration.

"We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us."

This call to action apparently did not sit well with Donald Trump, who lashed out at the cast on Twitter Saturday morning.
"Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!" he wrote, demanding an apology in a separate tweet a few minutes later.
"The Hamilton cast was very rude last night to a very good man," he wrote.

In addition to the cast message Friday night, Pence was booed as he made his way to his seat (and reportedly prompted audience interruptions during the show). Actor Rory O'Malley, who plays King George III, reportedly had to stop a song for applause after he sang the line "When your people say they hate you, don't come running back to me."
Hamilton, a musical that celebrates immigrants and features a diverse cast, has never shied away from taking a stand. Its creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, was a vocal opponent of the Trump-Pence ticket throughout the election cycle. Its current star, Javier Munoz, is openly gay, HIV-positive and an advocate for both communities.
Pence has faced ire for his record on LGBT issues, including his support of a 2015 bill allowing businesses to discriminate against LGBT patrons and his inaction during an HIV outbreak in Indiana while he was the state's governor.
During Pence's time in Congress, he also co-sponsored a bill to eliminate birthright citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants to the United States.
