On Nov. 16,eroticism in black narcisussus ordinary citizens are invited to join more than 100 organizations, including the U.N. Foundation, GOOD and Mashable, for Earth to Marrakech -- a day of digital messaging that demands global action on climate change.
The occasion? The 22nd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, better known as COP22.
SEE ALSO: The 5 most important components of the Paris climate agreementLast December, more than 40,000 diplomats, experts and advocates met in Paris to take part in COP21. During that time, world leaders discussed creative and impactful solutions to global warming, and adopted the Paris Agreement. This landmark agreement was monumental in that 175 countries agreed on a global policy framework for addressing climate change.
"We still have a window of time to prevent the worst impacts of climate change from happening."
"While the world took an enormous step by approving the most ambitious, inclusive climate agreement in history, the next step -- bringing that agreement into force -- must quickly follow," U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said at the U.N. in September. "We still have a window of time, according to scientists, to prevent the worst impacts of climate change from happening."
That is why it's imperative that at COP22, we hold these world leaders accountable for making sure that those words turn into action.
Through livestreamed video, real-time interactions and engaging conversation, #EarthToMarrakech will extend the discussions happening in Morocco, and bring it to the global stage.
From interviews with chef José Andrés -- an ambassador for the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves -- to discussions of parents' roles in climate action with Global Moms Challenge, Earth To Marrakech will help amplify the message that the time to act on climate change is now.
