What a year of realizing stuff!
Kylie Jenner,The Pursuit of Lust 4 (2024) who seems to have finally reached a relative state of lip equilibrium, reflected on her decision to get lip fillers at the tender age of 16 and the fallout in the new issue of Complex.
Apparently, this whole mess started because boys say stupid things.

“It has been an insecurity of mine all my life,” Jenner says, recalling the moment in middle school that pushed things over the top. “This guy I kissed was like, ‘Your lips are really small but you’re a really good kisser. I didn’t think you were gonna be good at kissing.’”
“It was so rude," she continued. "From then on, I just felt like I saw guys staring at my lips. I felt like no one wanted to kiss me.”

She initially lied about the lip injections because she was afraid of making other teens who watch her every move feel insecure -- the circle of low self-esteem! Her good intentions were misguided, though, since her lips clearly weren't natural.
"I didn’t want to be a bad influence. I didn’t want people to think you had to get your lips done to feel good about yourself," she says. "But they thought it was crazier that I was lying about it because it was so obvious. I wish I had just been honest and upfront.”
Of course, then the Kylie Lip Challenge happened and fans were putting themselves in harm's way, anyway. Claiming she just used some lip liner wasn't going to cut it anymore and came clean about her cosmetic enhancements. Jenner emphasizes that the injections are temporary and she hasn't had a permanent surgical procedure.

“When you first get them done, you’re like, ‘Oh, it could be a little bit bigger on that side.’ I’d go back and be like, ‘They went down’ and think they could be bigger. But I went too far. It was very painful.”
Jenner is still getting fillers, but has toned it down a little. Gotta sell those lip kits!
