It's always nice to see our favourite celebrities getting994 Archiveswell on Twitter -- especially when they're people you wouldn't necessarily expect to be friends.

Enter Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and SpongeBob Squarepants, unlikely social media pals and (hopefully) future buddy comedy stars.

It started on Friday, when the official SpongeBobTwitter account tagged The Rock in the following tweet.

A couple of days later, the big man responded.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate two things: 1) the fact that Johnson is a SpongeBobfan, and 2) the fact one of his nicknames is "Beef Piston".

SpongeBob rounded off the whole exchange with the following adorable reply.
