On Tuesday afternoon,Taiwan President Trump wrapped up a speech in front of the National Federation of Independent Businesses that included a 20-plus minute diatribe about immigration by waltzing over to an innocent American flag and embracing it. Literally.
SEE ALSO: Laura Ingraham compares child detention centers to 'summer camps' as Fox News goes totally off the railsAs Trump waved to the cheering crowd, he slowly approached the flag with arms wide open and big smile on his face, as if he was reconnecting with an old lover, and gently enclosed the flag in his cold grasp.
It's not the first time Trump has hugged an American flag. There were at least two other instances on the 2016 campaign trail when he enveloped the flag in his small hands and arms.
On one occasion, he added a creepy little shake to the hug.
On another occasion, he was more gentle but went for the two flags at once hug.
Via GiphyThere's nothing in the U.S. Flag Code that says one can't hug the American flag, but maybe the better question is shouldsomeone hug the American flag.
This is, after all, coming from the guy who has made quite a ruckus about NFL players not respecting the flag by taking part in peaceful protests before games.
But, hey, as Trump himself once said, "when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything."
