With the rain pouring over Columbus990 Archives Ohio on Saturday, fans at the Ohio State vs Wisconsin college football game probably felt like they were wading through Bikini Bottom. So the Ohio State Marching Band's SpongeBob SquarePants-themed halftime show was perfectly timed.
Of course SpongeBob, Patrick, and Gary made an appearance to the delight of everyone involved. Here's a clip (and the full show is embedded at the bottom of the story).

That delight spread out across Twitter as the show unfolded and videos of the performance spread. Some fans even referenced the Great SpongeBob Super Bowl Debacle.
In the end, the band played the SpongeBob theme song as well as "Goofy Goober Rock" but, sadly, "Sweet Victory" was only teased rather than played; fans in attendance tweeted that the stadium jumbotron made a reference to a copyright issue over the song.
Remember, "Sweet Victory" is a song by rock singer David Glen Eisley and guitarist Bob Kulick, so the SpongeBob folks don't actually own the rights.
